We are delighted to welcome you to the Erie Club as an invited guest of a member. To help ensure a comfortable and enjoyable visit, we invite you to review a few helpful guidelines before arriving at the Club.

Guest Information

  • Guests must be accompanied by a member at all times.
  • Upon arrival, guests are asked to sign in at the Guest Book in the foyer.
  • Guest visits are limited to four per year when visiting with a member.
  • Business casual attire is permitted in all areas during lunch hours (open-collared shirts, sweaters, and casual slacks).
  • A jacket and tie (or turtleneck) are required in the Main Dining Room during dinner service.
  • Casual attire is permitted in the Grill Room, Hearth Room, Pub, Smoking Room, and Patio. 
  • Dress shorts are permitted in casual attire areas during the summer months. Children should be dressed appropriately in accordance with the Club’s dress code.
  • With the exception of First Friday Happy Hour, members wearing Club casual attire pursuant to this policy must remain in the rooms where casual attire is permitted at all times. Members dressed in Club casual attire must enter and exit the Club through the Side Pub Room entrance or the 6th Street entrance.
  • Except during First Friday Happy Hour, members entering through the 6th Street entrance while wearing Club casual attire must proceed immediately downstairs and are not permitted to stand in or walk through any other areas of the Club where casual attire is not permitted.
  • For males, casual attire may include dark denim pants* (in good taste), provided the member wears one of the following at all times while in the Club: a blazer or sport coat; a long-sleeve button-down collared shirt (tucked in); or a long-sleeve dress sweater (quarter- or half-zip dress sweaters are acceptable) worn over a tucked-in button-down collared shirt or a tucked-in collared golf shirt. All shirts must be tucked in. Appropriate belts are required for males wearing denim under this policy.
  • For females, casual attire may include dark denim pants or white denim* (in good taste), provided the top portion of the outfit complies with the Club’s dress code. Belts are not required for females wearing denim under this policy.
The following items are not permitted in any area of the Club: beachwear, jean jackets, denim shirts, denim dresses or skirts, flip-flops (open-toed shoes are not permitted for men), cargo pants, cargo shorts, sneakers, T-shirts, sweatpants, and sweatshirts.

*Acceptable denim is limited to dark wash or black only. Low-rise, baggy, torn, stained, or faded jeans are not permitted. Denim must be worn with footwear that complies with the Club’s dress code. Athletic sneakers are not permitted.
  • Children are more than welcome at the Club when accompanied by a member or guest!
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring children observe Club policies, including appropriate behavior and adherence to the Club’s dress code.
  • Voice features of cellular telephones and other electronic devices are never permitted to be utilized in areas commonly enjoyed by other members, including corridors, non-private dining rooms, the Parlor, and the Pub Room. 
  • The use of cellular telephones and other electronic devices for voice communication is limited to unoccupied rooms on the 2nd floor, private dining rooms, and the Smoking Room (only if unoccupied).
  • Text messaging and silent reading of materials displayed on cellular telephones and other electronic devices are permitted in public areas. 
  • To protect the privacy of members, camera and videotaping features of cellular telephones and tablet computers may not be used in any area of the Club at any time.
All electronic devices must remain on silent while at the Club.
